This scalping strategy for Forex trading works across multiple currency pairs—and even other instruments available in MetaTrader 4—but is best tested first on GBP/JPY. It’s an indicator-based system using three tools: the Directional Movement Index (DMI), SuperTrend, and QQE. The strategy is timeframe-agnostic—traders may adapt it to their preferred chart intervals.
Indicator Settings
- SuperTrend: CCI period = 60, ATR period = 7.
- DMI: Smoothing = 8, threshold level = 20.
- QQE: Smoothing factor (SF) = 5.
Buy Signal Rules
- The SuperTrend line must be green.
- On the DMI indicator, the blue (+DI) line must cross above and remain above the red (−DI) line.
- On the QQE indicator, the thick blue line must cross upward through the dotted line.
- Enter a long position only when all three conditions are simultaneously met.

Sell Signal Rules
- The SuperTrend line must be red.
- On the DMI indicator, the blue (+DI) line must cross below and remain below the red (−DI) line.
- On the QQE indicator, the thick blue line must cross downward through the dotted line.
- Enter a short position only when all three conditions align.

Order Management Options
1. Trend-Following Mode
Since SuperTrend is inherently trend-oriented, this mode suits longer-term trades. To capture larger moves, increase its sensitivity by raising the CCI and/or ATR periods. With default settings, set Take Profit at 40–45 pips and Stop Loss at 45 pips. After gaining 20–25 pips, move the stop to breakeven.
2. Scalping Mode
For fast entries and exits: Take Profit = 10 pips, Stop Loss = 40 pips. On the H1 timeframe, most trades tend to be profitable under this configuration.
