How to work with the economic calendar of events?

  • Consider the importance of the economic event: they have the greatest impact on the market.
  • Especially highlight Central Bank meetings and speeches by their heads in the economic calendar, as they most fully reflect the state of economies and future monetary policy.
  • Remember that at the time of publication of the indicator data, the market compares it with both the previous value and the forecast. In this case, the reaction of the price to the discrepancy with the forecast is always higher, because this indicator has already been taken into account by traders as possible.
  • The highest impact on the exchange rate has macroeconomic statistics of its country, that is, data from the United States is most important for the dollar rate. Do not exclude the secondary impact of indicators of countries that are active economic partners of the state of the currency you are considering. So, China's production indicators may affect the Australian dollar exchange rate.
  • To start working with the calendar of economic events within the framework of fundamental analysis, we recommend choosing 1-2 currencies and, accordingly, countries that you will follow. To do this, you can set the appropriate calendar filters. It will be difficult for a beginner to keep the complete economic picture of the world in mind.
  • Follow the comments of our experts regarding important events of tomorrow. At first, they will help you better understand the situation.
