On American dollar bills, including the one-dollar note, you can find various symbols and images that some people interpret as signs related to Freemasonry. Some say most of these interpretations stem from conspiracy theories without confirmation from official sources. Others are convinced otherwise. It’s up to you to decide. Let’s examine these Masonic signs in more detail.
So, let’s first look at the 1 US dollar bill, which everyone has surely seen. It features the first US President George Washington. Here it is:

Upon examining the back side of the bill, many questions arise about the pyramid and eagle images. However, both drawings are taken from the Great Seal of the United States and represent its two sides. Therefore, Masonic signs should be sought here.
The All-Seeing Eye and the Number 13

Let’s examine the first side of the Great Seal – the side with the pyramid. Here we immediately find the signature Masonic sign ‘all-seeing eye’. At the base of the pyramid, which has 13 steps by the way, the number ‘MDCCLXXVI’ or 1776 is encoded, which, by a happy coincidence, is the year the secret order of the Illuminati was founded.
The phrase ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum’ translates as ‘order of a new age’ or ‘new world order.’ And ‘Annuit coeptis’ as ‘He (God) favors our undertakings.’ If you count carefully, this phrase has 13 characters.
On the second side of the seal, an eagle is depicted, and here the number 13 appears regularly: the eagle’s talons hold 13 arrows, there are 13 leaves, 13 olives on them, the shield has 13 stripes, and 13 stars above the eagle’s head. And yes, the phrase ‘E pluribus Unum’ has 13 characters.
The number of feathers on the eagle’s right side is 32, matching the number of degrees in Freemasonry. The 33 feathers on the left side are also not accidental: it is believed there is a 33rd secret degree among Masons.
But Let’s Look at the Facts
However, let’s stick to the facts. The phrase ‘new world order’ would sound like ‘Novus ordo mundi,’ not ‘Novus Ordo Seclorum.’ Explaining the number 13 is simple, as there were originally that many states in the US. The year 1776 holds no surprise, as it is the date of the Declaration of Independence. And the ‘all-seeing eye’ is not exclusively a Masonic symbol; it appears in Christianity as well.
Undoubtedly, the number 13 appears too frequently, and the pyramid image on the seal looks like a somewhat strange choice, but building a hypothesis solely on this is probably not worthwhile.
In this regard, a more intriguing fact is that if you draw a Star of David over the pyramid symbol, it spells out M-A-S-O-N, and this is perhaps the first coincidence that cannot be easily explained.

In the end, all these ‘oddities’ relate exclusively to the Great Seal, whose image was simply placed on the dollar. But what about the one-dollar bill itself – are there any Masonic signs on it?
Where Did the Owl on the Dollar Come From
There is no obvious or open owl on the dollar bill. To find and examine this sign, you’ll need a magnifying glass or other magnification tool. In the corner of the one-dollar bill hides a truly inexplicable tiny owl image. No rational explanation for how it ended up on the bill has been found.

As for theories, the word ‘owl’ immediately brings to mind another secret organization called Bohemian Grove, which includes influential world figures (Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Bill Clinton, and others). Undoubtedly, this organization deserves more detailed discussion, but the goal of this article was to tell about Masonic signs on the dollar.
Let’s Sum Up
To sum up the investigation, it’s worth noting that, as we understood, there are no overt Masonic signs on the dollar itself, except for the mystery of the owl image. All other oddities and coincidences, most of which were explained above, should be attributed to the Great Seal of the United States. But that’s another question.
