Trading indicator (exchange indicator) is a tool of technical market analysis, which graphically displays the necessary data for traders on the price chart using built-in mathematical algorithms.

What does a technical indicator show?
The readings of the trading indicator are based on data already displayed on the price chart – historical data. This is the main thesis of technical analysis: everything repeats itself.

The MetaTrader 4 trading platform has a standard set of indicators available in the terminal of any Forex broker by default. To install them, go to the “Insert” tab – “Indicators” and select the desired indicator.

Other technical indicators can be divided into paid and free.
Paid Forex indicators are usually sold on the authors’ websites and specialized platforms. The price of such indicators ranges from a few tens to a few hundreds of dollars. Often, paid indicators have a free trial period during which traders can test them in trading. Note that the fact that an indicator is charged for does not mean it will be effective in trading. It often happens that a free indicator is simply renamed and put up for sale.
