Gold Rebounds Sharply After Multi-Day Decline

Gold rose 4.01 points to 4137.52 as of 16:42 UTC, clawing back some ground after last week’s steep drop. Friday’s close at 4162.3 followed declines from 4202.3 on Wednesday and 4321.2 on Monday. Today’s low was 4153.8. Volume held steady at 130,846 contracts — unchanged from Thursday. The current bid remains well below the 5-day high of 4259.0 and continues to face headwinds from rising real yields and a stronger U.S. dollar. No central bank decisions or inflation data were scheduled for today. The next market-moving release is the U.S. trade balance, due Monday at 15:30 UTC.
